At NorthBay Health, the Occupational Therapist II functions as an independent clinician, providing comprehensive occupational therapy services in the outpatient setting with advanced reasoning. The Occupational Therapist II can be a resource to entry-level staff, provides clinical oversight of Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), contributes to program development, and ensures high-quality patient care consistent with departmental and regulatory standards.Primary Job DutiesProvides outpatient occupational therapy services during assigned shifts, including occasional weekend or holiday coverage as required.Performs initial evaluations, periodic re-evaluations, and update treatment plans/goals in collaboration with physicians as appropriate.Delivers evidence-based interventions tailored to the patient’s diagnosis, learning needs, and age.Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.Educates patients and caregivers on therapy procedures, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and safe use of assistive or adaptive equipment.Communicates effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, families, and third-party payers regarding patient status and treatment progression.Provides guidance and mentorship to Occupational Therapist I staff, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and students.Contributes to program development, quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, in-services, and professional development activities.Performs other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinic operations.Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.Licensure/Certifications: Current California license in Occupational Therapy is requiredNBCOT certification is requiredCurrent AHA or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationExperience: Minimum of one year of professional experience required. Prior outpatient experience strongly preferred.Skills: Advanced competency in Occupational Therapy evaluation and intervention techniques across physical, cognitive, and psychosocial domains.
