Job Summary

Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will operate radiographic equipment, position patients, and capture high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists or other healthcare providers.

Essential Functions

1. Perform various diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other radiographic examinations, as ordered by physicians or other healthcare providers.
2. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
3. Explain the procedure, answer questions, and address concerns to help alleviate patient anxiety.
4. Operate and adjust imaging equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI scanners, and related accessories.
5. Follow established protocols and ensure proper positioning and settings for optimal image quality.
6. Capture high-quality images and review them to ensure technical quality, proper positioning, and adequate exposure.
7. Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues to produce accurate and diagnostic images.
8. Follow radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure to ionizing radiation.
9. Use lead aprons, shields, and other protective devices as appropriate.
10. Monitor radiation dosage and equipment performance to maintain safety standards.
11. Maintain accurate and complete records of patient information, procedures performed, and related documentation.
12. Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other computerized tools for data entry and retrieval.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required.

Licenses and Credentials: Radiologic Technologist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required; Registered Technologist [ARRT-R] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred; Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred.

Experience: Experience in radiology technology 0-2 years required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, and patient positioning.
2. Familiarity with imaging procedures and protocols, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs.
3. Proficiency in using radiographic equipment and associated software.
4. Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and protocols.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
