Description: Our client is currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant/Paraeducator - Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year!

Hours: 8:50am-3:50pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Job Type: Contract until the end of the school year

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction to individuals in cognitive, motor skills, feeding, self-help, and behavior control as directed by the teacher.
  • Assist the teacher in maintaining the health and safety of physically handicapped students.
  • Assist students with personal hygiene, including washing hands and faces, toileting, and changing diapers/clothing.
  • Monitor and control student behavior following established guidelines.
  • Assist specialists with physical development activities.
  • Prepare students for mainstreamed classes according to established procedures.
  • Attend training and in-services related to medical interventions and instructional programs.
  • Assist students with braces and orthopedic equipment, including lifting and repositioning.
  • Maintain records related to student progress.
  • Implement positive behavior intervention support policies.
  • Collaborate with case workers, general education teachers, and other staff.
  • Assist students in social interactions.
  • Work cooperatively with others and independently as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • TB test clearance
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance
  • Own, reliable form of transportation (car)
  • Must have experience with children, students, caregiving of any age, or behavioral health
