Role Summary
We are seeking a licensed Wisconsin Pharmacist for a 26-week, full-time assignment in a structured clinical pharmacy setting. This is an excellent opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a professional, team-based environment without the pressures of retail pharmacy.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical and clinical services within a centralized pharmacy operation that supports a correctional healthcare system. The clinical standards mirror those of non-correctional healthcare settings, offering meaningful patient impact while maintaining a predictable weekday schedule.
This position is based in a Central Pharmacy location and is not located inside a correctional facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
Review medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic effectiveness
Apply sound clinical judgment and provide evidence-based recommendations when appropriate
Deliver pharmaceutical and clinical services in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related care
Support safe and efficient medication dispensing and management in a high-volume pharmacy environment
Compound IV medications within scope of licensure, as needed
Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
Maintain accurate documentation within the pharmacy information system
Contribute to safe medication practices and quality assurance initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Wisconsin Pharmacist license
Strong clinical knowledge and ability to exercise independent professional judgment
Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
Ability to work efficiently in a structured, high-volume pharmacy setting
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a clinical or closed-door pharmacy setting
Experience with IV compounding
Clinical experience in areas such as:
Warfarin management
Antibiotic stewardship
Medication-assisted treatment
Familiarity with Cerner Enterprise software (preferred but not required)
Strong understanding of pharmacy workflow and operational efficiency

26-week assignment
Up to 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday schedule
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (subject to breaks)
Competitive hourly rate (Felxible)
