Description

Franciscan has a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner opening for an experienced surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP).  Our team includes Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery.  

Recruitment efforts are currently under way for an individual who would like to join our growing Cardiothoracic Surgery practice.  There is a unique opportunity for additional volume growth and working at our brand new hospital in Silverdale. The cardiac surgery program has earned several STS 3 Star awards for CABG, AVR, and AVR CABG. We provide an excellent opportunity to provide a high level of care with unique individualized service.  Position includes robotic opportunities, minimally invasive thoracic and cardiac surgery, and endoscopic radial harvest. 

Clinic work consists of working up the surgical candidate for cardio and thoracic cases. Then follow-up care of post-surgical patients.

Operating room work consists of assisting the surgeon in open heart cases - primary role will be to harvest the veins out of the legs to be used in the coronary bypass procedures.  Additionally, you will assist in the chest after the veins have been harvested from our patients.  

Post Op Hospital work consists of taking care of the patients in the ICU and step down unit until discharge from the hospital.

Schedule is typically Mon-Fri with shared weekend call rotation.

Requirements include:

  • Active Washington State License
  • Certification
  • 2+ years CV/CT Surgery experience as an ARNP or Physician Assistant
  • Ideal candidate will have Cardiac and/or Endovascular vein harvesting experience
