Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Financial Discloser Report: Not required This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 31, 2021. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be February 26, 2021, with subsequent cut off dates on a bi-weekly basis. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as needed basis until positions are filled. [ "Perform initial and interim histories and physical examinations on inpatients and outpatients assigned to our service. Screen patients to determine the need for hospital admission. Is prohibited from rejecting patient for admission or discharging patients from care, either inpatient or outpatient, without concurrence of the supervising physician or alternate. Order routine laboratory, radiology and diagnostic tests on patients assigned to our service. Perform venipuncture and arterial punctures to obtain test specimens when personnel who customarily perform these procedures are not available. Initiate and/or expedite requests for consultations, special tests, or studies on assigned patients, and will keep the supervising physician apprised of results and progress. Make rounds on assigned inpatients and write/dictate progress notes and may dictate the discharge summary (which must be countersigned). Will notify Scope of Practice for: responsible physician of significant changes in the patients' condition and provide documentation of consultation with supervising physician when appropriate. Order electrocardiograms provide necessary patient education/health promotion and apply currently accepted preventive health care measures to patients and/or their families. Counsel patients or families in preventative care, medical conditions and use of prescribed treatments and medications. Insert or remove intravenous (IV) devices and administer IV medications after conferring with the supervising physician order and/or insert nasogastric suction catheters as necessary order use of restraints when consistent with defined policy. Order and/or catheterize the bladder, including indwelling Foley catheters and replace suprapubic catheters administer topical/local anesthesia. Conduct incision, drainage or debriding and care or minor superficial wounds. Conduct suturing/closure of simple lacerations. order and change gastrostomy and tracheostomy tubes. Counsel patients on VA policy of Living Will, Do Not Resuscitate and Do Not Intubate. Meet with families for conferences regarding patient's status, treatment procedures as consented by the patient, requested by the service and/or at scheduled staffing interdisciplinary meetings. Perform intraarticular and soft tissue injection for which the PA has been trained." ]
