ROLE OVERVIEW
This position is responsible to assist in quarry operations.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 4:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Saturday as needed during production, and Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM during maintenance season. Schedule may vary due to weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Summary of components that make up the job:
- Perform pre and post operational inspections and document the conditions accurately and legibly.
- Inspect, adjust, modify, and repair equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, specifically MSHA and Knife River standards.
- Report and correct any unsafe or failing conditions immediately.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees and supervisors.
- Inspect, adjust, modify, lubricate, and repair plant equipment daily to minimize break downs.
- Ability to identify and properly utilize various hand tools.
- Ability to obtain accurate measurements using a tape measure.
- Monitor plant equipment (conveyors, screen media, wear liners, etc.) and notify plant operator or supervisor of any deficiencies or needed repairs.
- Ability to climb ladders, inclined catwalks, and stairs.
- Perform repairs while working at heights and in small spaces.
- Perform repairs in varying weather and light conditions.
- Ability and willingness to work long hours during the production season.
- Perform clean up duties around various equipment using shovels and high pressure water hoses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Less than high school education or Up to one month related experience or training or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Drivers license required.
