Power Operations Superintendent -Skagway
AP&T is seeking a Power Operation Superintendent in our Skagway location. This position will provide supervision and support for the power operations in the Skagway location.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Journeyman Linemen and Apprentices
- Jointly work with the Operations Manager to generate job estimates for new construction including but not limited to:
- New customer services
- New line extensions
- Power line systems upgrades
- Oversight of the customer meter re-read and disconnect process
- Develop and execute a Power Line and Equipment maintenance plan
- Work in conjunction with the power plant crew for daily operations
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to trouble calls
- Work with the Power Operations Manager to resolve customer complaints
- Review system operations and equipment for inefficiencies
- Oversee the power metering system
- Oversee line hardware inventory
- Aid in the field work associated with the Power lineman field
- Travel to support other properties, projects and emergencies
- Travel for training
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a certified apprentice program
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as a journeyman lineman
- Minimum of 1 year as a line foreman or other supervisory position
Candidate Qualifications Required:
- Must have shown leadership and communication skills with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely lift up to 70lbs on a regular basis
- Must be able to see a full spectrum of color
- Position requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, crawling, speaking, hearing, seeing, depth perception, color vision, stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, and reaching/working overhead.
- This position requires work inside and outside in conditions inherent to an industrial environment. • The position requires wearing PPE and you must refrain from wearing loose clothing.
- Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be capable to working at heights of 60'
- Must be able to climb poles and ladders.
- Must be capable of working out of a bucket truck.
- Must be able to safely climb poles and work at heights up to 80 feet.
The pay for this position is $53.00-$65.00 per hour and is DOE.
