* Must possess substantial experience in authoring ICDs and IDDs that comply with DID requirements and meet DoD standards
* Must be capable of working as part of an experienced team to develop systems engineering products and artifacts while following the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and other processes
* Develop and update several Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents
* Will participate in interface working group meetings with the MDA customer and representatives from the assigned external element engineering organization. Additionally, it will provide support for program integration and test-related efforts concerning the associated interface.
* Will also support other interface engineers in developing ICDs for additional BMDS elements, as well as assist with requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling tasks as required by the SE department
* Will support spiral leadership to ensure the completion of interface artifacts and system assessment tasks needed for the assigned sensor interface
* This position will be assigned to the C2BMC-G Systems Engineering Team within SEIT
* The Interface Engineer is a Systems Engineer and may, at times, be called upon to support non-interface systems engineering activities Salary range for Huntsville: $105,400 - $158,000
Salary range for Colorado Springs: $100,300 - $150,500 Basic Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. * A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field-Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mathematics-from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of related work experience; alternatively, a Master's degree (preferred) in a related STEM discipline with 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD in a related discipline with 1 year of work experience is acceptable
* Applicants must possess a current, active, in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is necessary to start
* Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
* Must have a solid grasp of the systems engineering process and its principles
* Must possess a demonstrated history of effectively applying systems engineering principles to create product solutions
* Must possess experience in requirements elicitation, including the utilization of behavior diagrams as an analytical tool to comprehend and decompose requirements.
* Must demonstrate Systems Engineering skills and experience in interface engineering, including:
* Authoring of Interface Control Documents (ICDS) and Interface Design Documents (IDDS)
* Message definition and processing rules
* Message formatting (e.g., XML, VMF, et al)
* Physical/network specifications and models, to include the ISO OSI model
* Physical/network topologies and devices; network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, etc.)
* Requirements engineering and the development of behavioral models and diagrams are necessary, including:
* Use cases
* Sequence diagrams and activity diagrams
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential Preferred Qualifications: * Master's Degree in Systems Engineering
* Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
* Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF)
* Experience in requirements engineering, particularly with IBM Rational's Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), is highly desirable
* Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)-based cybersecurity, as well as Agile or Iterative Development Methods, is a plus
* Experience in creating Space Sensors or Terrestrial Sensors is highly desirable
