Amazon Business is seeking a Principal Partner Solutions Architect to lead the technical direction of our growing partner ecosystem. This is a high-impact, senior technical leadership role that blends strategic vision, hands-on architecture, and collaboration with partners and internal teams. You will drive innovation in procurement technology, delivering sophisticated, scalable solutions alongside procurement platforms, global system integrators, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

Key job responsibilities

  1. Define and drive the technical strategy for Amazon Business’s partner ecosystem, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and scalability across a global network.
  2. Design and implement enterprise-grade procurement integrations for platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, SAP, Oracle, and others, ensuring technical excellence and reliability.
  3. Lead the evolution of Amazon Business’s API platform, defining capabilities that enable advanced partner use cases and improve developer experiences.
  4. Provide architectural leadership for large-scale, partner-driven enterprise procurement transformations, guiding design, implementation, and technical governance.
  5. Collaborate with global system integrators and ISVs to validate complex customer architectures and deliver robust technical solutions.
  6. Act as a technical escalation point for resolving architectural challenges, ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of partner integrations.
  7. Shape the strategy for the Amazon Business App Center, driving innovation in the marketplace ecosystem and enabling partner-built applications.
  8. Establish and enforce technical governance frameworks to standardize and optimize partner integration solutions.
  9. Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to influence Amazon Business’s API roadmap and prioritize features that drive partner success.
  10. Represent Amazon Business in technical forums, panels, and industry events, advocating for best practices and standards in B2B commerce.
  11. Drive thought leadership through technical publications, white papers, and collaboration with developer communities.
  12. Engineer next-generation integration patterns, leveraging technologies like REST APIs, cXML, and EDI to build industry-leading solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enterprise-scale, technology-driven solutions in B2B commerce or procurement technology.
  • Experience architecting complex technical integrations with platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Experience in API development, REST APIs, cXML, EDI, and other integration standards, with a focus on building scalable and secure architectures.
  • Experience working with global system integrators and managing large-scale technical transformations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and the ability to leverage AWS tools and services for advanced integration solutions.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to engage with engineering teams, product leaders, and C-level stakeholders, delivering technical strategies that drive innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of best practices and shape technical standards across partner ecosystems.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
