Based in the San Clemente area, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Engineering team. This is position that offers an excellent opportunity to lead and shape the procurement strategies of our organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's procurement processes, ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary to meet our business goals.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the needs of various departments.
2. Oversee the procurement process from the initial stage of identifying potential suppliers, through to contract negotiation, signing, and post-purchase evaluation.
3. Manage supplier relations and negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, etc., in line with our strategic objectives.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure clear communication and mutual understanding of expectations.
5. Continually monitor changes in the marketplace and industry to identify potential suppliers, trends in pricing, and product availability.
6. Implement and manage procurement reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information on procurement metrics.
7. Develop and manage the procurement department budget.
8. Ensure that the procurement department complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to any laws and regulations.
9. Review and manage the company's procurement processes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
10. Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance and support as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the Engineering industry.
3. Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role, with a track record of managing complex procurement processes and supplier relationships.
4. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
6. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
7. Solid knowledge of supplier or third party management software.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
9. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market.
12. A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
