Kitco Defense is the military support arm of the Wencor Group. We provide new replacement and spare parts through kitting and distribution to support US military customers. Our customers include the Defense Logistics Agencies in Richmond, VA, Philadelphia, PA and Columbus, OH. We also sell into Aerospace OEMs including Northrop Grumman, Boeing, and Lockheed.

Overview of Position:

This employee will be able to developmental role in our Source Approval Request (SAR) and Distribution Business. This position supports in driving growth in their assigned Distribution product lines.

He/she will bid the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) on their assigned Distribution product line, conduct research, complete analysis, and communicate with stakeholders. Communication will include presentations, training, and regular updates to ensure alignment and understanding. This employee will also be responsible for gaining input to ensure forecasts and budgets are complete and on time.

Success will be measured by successful completion of projects, meaningful analysis, impactful communication, and a collaborative and proactive engagement with the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on our products, the industry, and the competition
  • Completion of monthly reporting and creation of presentations for internal and external use
  • Conduct analysis on inventory, sales gaps, competition, and customer retention
  • Ensure systems and documents are updated with the most up-to-date information, including pricing catalogs, books, and agreements
  • Coordinate the budget and forecasting process
  • Identifies new opportunities and suggests which opportunities the department should pursue
  • Recommends pricing strategies
  • Identifies critical cost items
  • Recommends reverse engineering strategies
  • Identifies all risk elements
  • Evaluates vendor's pricing for bids
  • Submits bids through appropriate media
  • Maintains customer profiles
  • Maintains good customer relations
  • Follows up with customer after providing bid and collects win loss data
  • Create and push regular communications, technical documents, and training to key stakeholders
  • Respond to simple inquiries from Kitco Defense sales team
  • Continuously apply process improvement principles and use lean principles to eliminate waste
  • Support group goals and objectives through teamwork and cooperation
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
  • Ability and desire to learn the Aerospace Industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Must work well in team environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to data mine via government haystack program
  • Possess business acumen, including basic understanding of financial tools
  • A background in aerospace fasteners and/or bearing products is a plus

Education Requirements: BS degree in Business, Engineering or a related field. Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
