Paid Time Off:

Position Description
Starting Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000; depending on experience
Location: Lynnwood, WA
Classification: Exempt
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. - Sponsorship not available
Position Overview:
Handle all project accounting tasks for a specified list of project managers or projects, including job set up, subcontract management, job billing, job cost substantiations, compliance, and other accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Issue billings based on contract and costs to date or schedule of values.
Review/interpret job cost information to incorporate all applicable costs.
Submit invoices for approval of charges before issuance to the customer.
Create job cost substantiations.
Process and maintain incoming/outgoing contract and subcontract documents, billing requests and correspondence.
Review contracts and proposals to identify payment terms, billing rates, and allowable charges.
Review and process subcontract documents including compliance for individual subcontracts.
Job set up and maintenance of project phase codes and billing templates.
Process and assemble contractually required administrative documents including certified payrolls, union affidavits, work recovery, etc.
Process requests for insurance certificates.
Make friendly collection inquiries, update notes in AR, reconcile billing discrepancies, and escalate issues to management.
Manage tier releases required to obtain timely customer payment.
Process and calculate billing rates for final review consistent with company policy and procedure.
Prepare reports and analysis in preparation of external billing audits.
Communicate effectively with General Contractors, Subcontractors, Project Managers and other UMC staff to ensure projects are maintained.
Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Work as a team with other Project Accountants to ensure the department is providing necessary customer service.
Provide back-up support for other Project Accountants.
Assist in team projects.
Position Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people in person, by phone, by e-mail and in writing.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Ability to read and identify specific contract language to produce accurate billings.
Ability to build a positive rapport with clients and co-workers.
Professional and ethical.
Good organizational skills.
Willing to work as a team and with other employees.
Ability to schedule, communicate and meet deadlines.
Flexibility to change gears and re-prioritize tasks under pressure.
Aptitude for working with computers.
Advanced ability to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential information.
Ability to perform with limited supervision.
Preferred Education and Experience:
2 years relevant billing, accounting and/or construction experience.
Required Licensing and Other Certifications:
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
