You will provide technical leadership and project management support for the delivery of multi-disciplinary development projects. The nature of projects range from science instruments to telescope or adaptive optics upgrades to infrastructure projects. You will work in close collaboration with observatory staff, partner institutions, and vendors to ensure project delivery.
o Support the development, execution, and maintenance of the project plan.
o Ensure that assigned personnel have the technical guidance, information, and resources needed.
o Support the development of the system architecture to meet the science goals.
o Ensure requirements and interface definitions are complete.
o Lead efforts to identify and resolve technical concerns.
o Foster a team environment.
o Develop, revise, and track the project plan to meet targets, including schedule, budget and contingency.
o Develop and maintain the management and technical risk registers and mitigation plans.
o Implement and manage subcontracts.
