Project Manager - Special Projects

The Project Manager is responsible for supporting strategic initiatives that span multiple departments and contribute to organizational value. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle for a variety of initiatives, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring alignment between project outcomes and business objectives. Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of multiple moderately complex projects from initiation to completion
• Coordinate and communicate project plans, roles, goals, and timelines using established project lifecycle models
• Provide project support functions as needed
• Create, monitor, and adjust project budgets to ensure financial alignment
• Mentor Associate Project Managers and guide them through project management processes
• Present research and analytical insights to project sponsors and secure cross-functional buy-in
• Handle team logistics including meetings, documentation, action items, and follow-ups
• Build and maintain relationships across departments and internal stakeholders
• Manage expectations for sponsors, internal customers, teams, and vendors
• Ensure ongoing follow-up to maintain internal customer satisfaction
• Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills within project teams
• Proactively identify and resolve team conflicts to maintain project momentum
• Define and oversee project success metrics

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, finance, business communications, or a related field preferred
• 2–4 years of experience in business, consulting, or analytical roles, ideally with a focus on engineering, finance, management, or information systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Visio
• Experience with project management software; Smartsheet proficiency preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• PMP or other relevant certification is a plus
