Proofreader with at least five years of legal experience, working Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Responsibilities include performing full and cold reads, verifying handwritten, printed, or word-processed documents against mark-ups for accuracy, grammar, and typos. Tasks involve proofreading legal documents, cross-references, manual redlining, and using Adobe annotation tools. Experience with creating PDFs, proofreading audio/video transcriptions, and handling email requests is required.
Skills include excellent customer service, teamwork, resourcefulness, proficiency in legal citation and formatting (Bluebook, Black's Law Dictionary), and knowledge of proofreading symbols and procedures. Flexibility to cover shifts and familiarity with Microsoft Office are also needed.
Preferred education is a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of five years of legal proofreading experience is required. The role offers a salary range of $75,500–$77,000 in a standard office environment.
