SUMMARY

Arcticom, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Purchasing Agent/Shipping and Receiving Support for Arcticom, LLC 144 E. Potter Drive, Unit C, Anchorage, AK 99518. This position will work and negotiate with suppliers to purchase goods and services for Arcticom, LLC. This includes locating suppliers, researching goods and materials and processing purchasing orders.

  • Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company
  • Verifying purchases by comparing them to a primary list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products
  • Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors
  • Authorizing payments and maintaining receipts, records and inventories

•         Provide backup for the Shipping and Receiving position and becoming familiar with performing tasks associated with the position.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications  

  • Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing protocols and standards.

•         Must work accurately and with great attention to detail to avoid delays and errors. 

•         Ability to build successful relationships and close business. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of CRM and inventory management software programs.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management.

•         Passionate about learning wireless products and features and applying that knowledge to the position.

•         Grammar skills (both verbal and written).  

Preferred

•         Previous products sales experience

•         Proven experience in a relevant role

•         Excellent communication and negotiation skills

•         Strong organizational and analytical skills

•         Ability to meet deadlines

          Associates degree, preferred in Electronics or IT

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. •         Ability to lift at least 60 lbs. or more and 10 lbs. overhead.

•         Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and elevated walkways and work at heights of at least 30 feet but may extend to 150 feet such as top of grain leg

•         Operate the JLG, forklift, scissor lifts, skid loader, and sweeper with related certification.

•         Use of a two-way radio for communication.

•         Speak to employees for direction and training purposes.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

•         This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
