Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to assist with Quality Control testing in a color and plastic additives manufacturing lab. The technician will conduct various tests including viscosity, color matching, spectrophotometer analyses, and titration. Additionally, they will document results using Excel and SAP.
Responsibilities
- Perform color matching tasks assigned by the Lab Manager, ensuring high-quality results within the requested timeframe.
- Use approved procedures following the FIFO rule, utilizing the right components and blending samples for customer evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Lab Manager to issue SDS, TDS, and QC documentation, and prepare customer declarations as requested.
- Ensure correct labeling of samples and maintain accessibility of documentation related to product toxicity and classification according to laws and regulations.
- Provide support to customers on environmental issues related to production applications.
- Follow up on samples to ensure they meet customer production process and color shade requirements, and find solutions for necessary adjustments.
- Conduct Quality Control tests on finished products to ensure quality consistency and compliance with agreed specifications.
- Approve or reject incoming raw materials based on technical specifications agreed with suppliers.
- Contribute to defining specifications for new products.
- Provide technical support through site visits to customers and assist General/Sales Managers when requested.
- Report back to the Lab Manager on applicative and technological insights gained during customer site visits.
- Represent the company at tradeshows or events when requested.
- Investigate customer product complaints with the Lab Manager, propose corrective or preventive actions, and verify their effectiveness.
- Manage and control the calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Perform tests and suggest recovery instructions for non-compliant products returned by customers or production materials.
- Ensure proper information flow to colleagues to enhance the technical background of the laboratory.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and lab instruments.
- Enter data related to new formulations into SAP in a timely manner.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Lab Manager.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in color matching and color theory, including CLAB experience and LAB values.
- Experience with viscosity, titration, quality control, wet chemistry, and spectrophotometer usage.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Excel and SAP for documentation.
- Understanding of ink chemistry, color matching, and QC testing.
- Knowledge of GMP, plastic materials, and ink chemistry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Possession of a High School Diploma, Associate"s Degree, or working towards a Bachelor"s Degree.
- Good work ethic and positive attitude.
- Completion of coursework in chemistry or biology.
- Lab experience is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
The technician will work in a Quality Control Lab that focuses on colored plastic and additives. The environment involves handling various chemicals and using laboratory equipment, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALLAS, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
