The Research and Development Engineer role involves leading process development and optimization within a global multi-metal company specializing in copper recycling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, executing, and evaluating experiments to improve production processes.
- Developing new processes and enhancing existing ones through metallurgical and mathematical modeling.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Collaborating with external partners and conducting competitor analyses.
- Managing R&D projects, including patent drafting and profitability assessments.
- Designing test facilities, creating process specifications, and developing prototypes.
- Applying advanced analytics and mathematical methods using tools like MATLAB, Python, or AIMMS.
Qualifications include at least 3 years of experience, expertise in metallurgical processes, and a university degree in relevant fields, with a PhD preferred. Additional knowledge of expert systems and process modeling is advantageous.
