They represent a diverse clientele, including developers, investors, lenders, and landlords, on sophisticated and impactful real estate transactions. This client is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Associate Attorney to join their thriving Commercial Real Estate practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate (Class of 2021-2023) with a strong interest in commercial real estate law to gain hands-on experience and develop their legal skills under the guidance of experienced attorneys. The Associate Attorney will assist with a broad range of commercial real estate matters and will receive mentorship and training to build a successful career in this dynamic field.
Responsibilities:
Assist senior attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various real estate issues.
Draft and review a variety of commercial real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, easements, and restrictive covenants.
Assist with due diligence investigations, including title review, survey analysis, and zoning and land use research.
Prepare and organize closing documents and assist with closing procedures.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, and other parties involved in transactions.
Assist with the preparation of memoranda, legal opinions, and other written materials.
Maintain organized and accurate case files and transaction records.
Attend and participate in client meetings and conference calls.
Stay current on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Participate in firm-sponsored training and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate effectively with other attorneys and staff within the firm.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (Class of 2021, 2022, or 2023).
Admitted to and in good standing with the New York Bar.
Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in commercial real estate law (e.g., relevant coursework, law review note, moot court experience).
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to understand and interpret complex legal documents.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
A proactive and eager attitude towards learning and professional development.
