What You’ll Contribute

Fundrise is seeking to identify and hire a Manager - Real Estate Valuation who would coordinate and execute the valuation and NAV reporting functions across all investment verticals and business lines. The successful candidate will play a key role in the NAV process of the Company, including the introduction and execution of daily NAV for recently-launched funds. The successful candidate will not only be responsible for coordinating and executing the maintenance of valuation models and frameworks, but also for playing a key role in tracking/monitoring major developments of the portfolio on daily, monthly and quarterly basis; liaising with various internal and external groups to facilitate successful execution of the NAV and asset management processes. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Running the daily NAV process
  • Coordination, preparation, and review of the monthly and quarterly valuation models
  • Coordinating with accounting, asset management, acquisition teams and outside sponsors to facilitate timely information exchange/gathering for NAV purposes
  • Adhering to the best practices in development of valuation methodologies in compliance with applicable valuation frameworks (ASC 820 etc.)
  • Researching, compiling and maintaining documentation to support key valuation assumptions
  • Closely liaising with the acquisition and asset management teams to develop and maintain valuation templates incorporating discounted cash flow, direct capitalization, hypothetical liquidation and sales comps approaches
  • Overseeing/assisting with the daily, monthly and quarterly processes by working with the various teams, deal sponsors and third-party independent valuation specialists
  • Playing a key role in preparation of materials for the Valuation Committee
  • Enhancing and improving existing valuation processes and procedures
  • Staying up to date on current market developments and industry best practices
  • Conducting research and analysis on complex valuation issues and market events
  • Coordinate the monitoring and reporting of portfolio performance as well as portfolio-driven data analytics
  • Have a positive impact on the firm’s culture, and how people work well together towards a common goal
  • Maintaining a hiring plan for anticipated team structure needs

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess strong business acumen, display sound judgment, possess superior leadership skills, and convey credibility both inside the firm and to the greater market. Additionally, the candidate should be passionate about working within a fast-paced, growing, and innovative platform.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous experience as a CPA in public accounting is required; Additionally, a minimum of 7 - 10+ years of valuation experience within the real estate practice at Big 4 accounting firm is preferred. Experience at a third party valuation provider, investment bank or real estate company will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate investment valuation methodologies and best practices, prior experience with a multifamily asset class is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Successful track record of professional advancement.
  • Extremely high level of conscientiousness towards work product.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills applied proactively with an eye towards constant improvement.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and management skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly collaborative nature, being most productive working in a team environment. Capable of fitting within the Fundrise team.
  • Self-guided work ethic with results-driven orientation. Superior analytical, quantitative, and technical skills.
  • Strong history of academic achievement; undergraduate degree required.
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
