Job Summary
The Infusion/Chemotherapy Department is a specialized, fast-paced clinical setting providing comprehensive care to patients receiving outpatient and inpatient infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, hydration, antibiotics, and other IV-administered treatments. Patients served include individuals with oncologic and hematologic conditions, autoimmune disorders, chronic illnesses requiring infusion support, and patients receiving supportive or symptom-management therapies. Nursing responsibilities include safe preparation and administration of infusion and chemotherapy agents, management of central venous access devices, thorough patient assessment, monitoring for infusion reactions, and timely intervention as needed. Infusion/Chemotherapy nurses collaborate closely with oncology providers, pharmacists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver individualized, evidence-based, safe patient care. Nurses also provide comprehensive education to patients and families regarding treatment expectations, adverse-effect management, medication safety, and required home precautions related to hazardous drugs.
Requirements: Current MN RN License. Minimum of two (2) years of infusion, oncology, or critical-care nursing experience preferred. ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certificate required at hire. Proficiency in central venous access device (CVAD) management-including accessing, flushing, dressing changes, and troubleshooting-preferred. Current BLS & ACLS certification required. Strong knowledge of infusion-related emergencies including anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity reactions, and extravasation management. Familiarity with USP <800> hazardous-drug handling requirements and PPE guidelines preferred.
Wage
Depending on your work experience, you could earn a wage of $42.46 to $63.16 per hour.
