The Safer Consumer Products (SCP) Program is a dynamic, passionate, and diverse team of innovative scientists, engineers, market researchers, and analysts working to revolutionize protection for California's people and the environment by advancing the cutting-edge design, development, and use of chemically safer products. SCP is seeking an exceptional Research Data Specialist II who will be responsible for researching and providing strategic insights about the market presence, sales, and supply chains of consumer products sold in California, shaping the future of consumer safety.

Working Conditions
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. The Safer Consumer Products Program is considering regulating a hazardous chemical used in multiple cleaning products. Before making this decision, the team needs a clear understanding of the feasibility for manufacturers to switch to a safer alternative and the potential economic impacts on California businesses and consumers.
