Description of Work Unit: The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at CSU offers a high quality research and learning environment. Faculty research accomplishments have been recognized nationally and internationally in the areas of biochemistry and molecular, cellular, and structural biology.

Position Summary: The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology seeks applications throughout the academic year from Ph.D.-level scientists who are interested in research positions at the Research Scientist/Scholar level. The open positions may be temporary or special assignments. Signing bonuses may be offered to select candidates.

Required Job Qualifications: Research Scientist applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline. There are four levels of appointment:
Level I: for individuals generally within three years of receiving their Ph.D. and with limited scientific research experience.
Level II: analogous to the Assistant Professor title for regular faculty, generally includes people with more than 3 years of relevant professional experience beyond the Ph.D. and with significant professional accomplishments.
Level III: and Senior Research Scientist/Scholar: for individuals with a significant number of years of experience beyond the Ph.D. and extremely significant and extraordinary accomplishments.
