Description of Work Unit: Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Department of Clinical Sciences aims to assure the health and productivity of animals and advance comparative biomedical knowledge through high-quality educational programs.

Position Summary: Research Scientist/Scholar positions are available in the Department of Clinical Sciences, focusing on virtual reality, animal health, infectious disease, soft-tissue, cancer, orthopedics, specialties, and reproduction. These positions involve collaboration with the Principal Investigator and other research assistants on a federally funded project.

Required Job Qualifications: PhD, Doctorate, or equivalent degree in Veterinary Sciences or a closely related field at the time of hire is required for all levels.

  1. Level I: Individuals generally within three years of receiving their Ph.D. or equivalent degree with significant professional accomplishments.
  2. Level II: Analogous to the Assistant Professor title, generally includes individuals with three to seven years of experience beyond the Ph.D. with significant accomplishments.
  3. Level III: Analogous to the Associate Professor title, generally includes individuals with more than seven years of experience beyond the Ph.D. with significant accomplishments.
  4. The Senior level: Analogous to the full Professor title, includes individuals well beyond the Ph.D. level demonstrating outstanding professional accomplishments and leadership.

Preferred Job Qualifications: Candidates with knowledge and experience in animal health, infectious disease, soft-tissue, cancer, orthopedics, specialties, and reproduction are preferred.
