Purpose: The Retail Marketing Manager is an essential position for the continued growth of Berry’s Retail business – Retail Waste & Food Bags and Sheeting. The role will be responsible for leading brand strategy for Berry’s retail brands and implementation thereof. It will lead the oversight of the brick-&-mortar and ecommerce strategy, and manage resources and plans to support that strategic plan. It will also lead the oversight in planning, development and implementation of segment-related marketing activities including consumer promotions, and special requests to drive growth and enhance the customer experience. And, it will lead developing plans for sourcing and generating consumer insight and purchase-behavior analytics . Working across organizational boundaries, the role will drive cohesion through all marketing and branding activities and interactions, including, as appropriate, for private label customers. The Retail Marketing Manager partners with Sales, Product Management, and Product Development to ensure Berry’s branded presence in the Retail space continues to gain equity, momentum (brick-&-mortar and ecommerce), and drives growth to the business.


Utilize business and consumer trends to identify key opportunities to build and execute innovative marketing plans in support of retail programs.

+ Develop a long-term marketing strategy that is in alignment with the division long-term strategic plan and growth goals; for brand and private label

+ Identify and develop results-oriented Consumer marketing programs within the confines of the marketing strategy and budget; includes carryingout marketing plans, including promotional calendars and programs, new product introductions and other marketing projects

+ Create a social media strategy and execute implementation, including determining appropriate platforms, partners, calendar plan and spending; develop & implement success monitoring metricsfor all consumer focused marketing support, manage deliverables and timelines for product line initiatives, from assignment launch, management of each, & through to execution & completion. Consumer marketing support includes promotions, web content, social media and product packaging.

+ Oversight of all brand and product marketing content and tools; including managing external resources where appropriate, to help create and manage

+ Develop, manage and execute customer and consumer research projects for brand and products, including the crafting, fielding and analysis of insights, as required to understand and validate branding initiatives to effectively deliver meaningful and consumer-relevant products to retail.

+ Identify new, consumer insight-driven marketing solutions to drive growth.

+ Lead cross-functional teams, including internal and external resources, to achieve timely execution of projects in alignment with objectives outlined in the marketing plans.

+ Deliver consumer insight-driven sales collateral, product samples and comprehensive sales materials required for successful customer presentations; manage and deliver customer line review presentations and supporting materials

+ Manage all trademark and intellectual properties for the retail brands supported.

+ Manage relevant 3 rd party agency proposals, projects, deliverables (i.e. Ad, Media, Syndicated Data, etc.)


7+ years of progressive marketing experience in a senior role.

+ University degree in marketing or business; MBA preferred.

+ Solid track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives.

+ Strong leadership/development of successful content for brand, product and associated initiatives & tools

+ Ability to recruit, select, and manage 3 rd party agencies to help execute plan/growth strategy

+ Understanding of, and success managing cross-platform brand and support activities – brick-&-mortar and ecommerce

+ Solid understanding and experience with ecommerce platforms, methodology/resources to support it and metrics to interpret success

+ Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and PowerPoint

+ Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes

+ Proven ability to lead a proactive marketing organization and ensure accountability for results that maximize contribution to business objectives.

+ Preferredexperience leading a retail marketing organization
