Job Summary: Provides surgical care services in the operating room as an assistant performing retraction during surgical procedures. This role also includes patient care, specimen handling, equipment transport, room cleaning, light maintenance, and linen management.

Position Responsibilities

1. Assists in surgical procedures as a retractor holder for total hip arthroplasty.
2. Prioritizes OR suite cleaning for room “Turnover” and cleans the perioperative area using prescribed procedures including the operating rooms.
3. Assists with transferring, transporting, and positioning of patients while using correct body mechanics.
4. Assists in OR set-up for each case, having essential equipment moved into the room. Cleans and puts away equipment not needed following the case. Transports and handles essential equipment per policies and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required

Required Experience: Previous patient care experience/skills preferred in surgical services.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Training / Certification / Licensure: BLS Certification.
