ACD Telecom, LLC is telecommunications consulting firm specializing in public safety communications since 1998. The unique nature of ACD Telecom’s personnel, technical, management, and leadership experience over the past 30 years positions us to provide premier consulting services to public safety agencies throughout the United States. ACD Telecom is looking for a full time RF Engineer with a BSEE degree to work out of its Lake Mary, FL office.


Under the direction of Ali Shahnami, VP, the RF Engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership with the design and implementation of small and large Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Trunked and Simulcast Systems, Propagation Analysis, Coverage Testing and Next Generation 911, specifically APCO Project 25 technology. The RF Engineer will also deliver consulting expertise for ACD’s core business capabilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research and review new and different technologies as they pertain to Integrated Emergency Communications System
  • Assist ACD Telecom's VP with all project upgrades and enhancements
  • Assist with technology grant applications
  • Run system reports for statistical tracking as required for troubleshooting and analysis
  • Perform physical inventories of equipment, if necessary
  • Complete and e-file the Federal Communications commission (FCC) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) forms as needed
  • Notifications or updates to a tower's antenna structure registration
  • Coordinate with the FCC and FAA on behalf of ACD Telecom’s clients
  • Perform frequency coordination in VHF, UHF, 700/800 MHz and Microwave Bands  
  • Research and review new and different technologies
  • Perform engineering, testing and analysis as needed to address identified trends or unresolved complaints of coverage deficiencies or interference in the systems
  • Perform coverage and performance testing



  • Strong background and experience in design and implementation of small and large wireless communications systems in spectrum bands between 150MHz to 18GHz
  • Strong client interface skills and presentation
  • Knowledge of public safety communications systems, in particular LMR and Microwave systems
  • Knowledge of Broadband technology as it pertains to public safety communications systems
  • Knowledge of public safety communications systems, in particular LMR and Microwave systems
  • Strong background in project management. PMP certification is preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to travel at least 4 to 6 times a year
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
