Russian River Fish Technician - TERO Candidates Only

Schedule: 32 hours/week

Job Summary

The Russian River Fish Technician will perform the following duties under the direction of the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS). In addition to raking fish waste back into the main current of the Russian and Kenai Rivers the Technician will pick up trash and monofilament line, share educational messages with visitors, record amount and location of fish waste, and record bear activity. This position will work while out in the field as a pair, usually with another Kenaitze Russian River Fish Technician. This is a Thursday-Sunday schedule that requires working weekend hours and as a seasonal position will run from early June to late August

  • Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or currently enrolled.

Experience

  • Knowledge of Kenaitze Dena'ina values and history.

License/Certification

  • Valid Alaska Driver License and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy.

Special Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire
  • Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines

This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position
