Sales Estimator

Ocean Paving and Sealing is currently searching for a full-time Sales Estimator to estimate project costs, prepare bids, and drive sales efforts for asphalt pave and seal projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and close sales.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Minimum of three years of experience in sales, estimating, or a similar role within the construction or paving industry
  • Strong mathematical skills and a solid understanding of construction principles, materials, and processes specifically in asphalt paving and sealing
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients and manage relationships effectively
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to visit job sites and meet with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities:

  • Project Estimation: Accurately assess project specifications, site conditions, and client requirements to develop detailed cost estimates for asphalt paving and sealing projects
  • Bid Preparation: Create comprehensive and competitive bids that align with company standards and client expectations, ensuring all necessary information is included
  • Sales Engagement: Actively pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to expand the customer base and increase revenue
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and inquiries promptly to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive offerings, and pricing strategies to enhance the company’s competitive edge
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and production teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment between estimated costs and actual expenses
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of bids, sales activities, and customer interactions using our CRM system; generate reports to track performance metrics and sales progress
  • Training & Development: Stay current on industry practices, new technologies, and paving techniques through continuous learning and professional development workshops
