About the Position

The Scheduler is responsible for forecasting the request volume and planning for construction, decommissioning, reconfigurations, and equipment requirements to meet that demand within Real Estate and Facility Services goals (Facilities Capital, Operations and Maintenance, Real Estate, Design and Space Planning performance metrics, etc.). The position is responsible for multiple phases of forecasting and scheduling including long, medium- and short-term projections. 

What will you get up to everyday?

  • Forecast request volume and average request length for respective Real Estate and Facility Services department 
  • Develop comprehensive and attainable short- and long-term plans for the number of staffing resources that will be required to handle the forecasted demand  
  • Consider all contingencies when developing plans including building allowances for delays and problems while looking for opportunities to continually improve the business 
  • Implement new systems into the department 
  • Coordinate with other areas to meet other scheduling requirements including Property and Facility Management, Design and Space Planning, and Real Estate 
  • Proactively and effectively respond to rescheduling requirements to accommodate unexpected changes, delays, and emergencies 
  • Use excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and reasoning skills to effectively develop a master schedule to ensure all areas operate efficiently  
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision in a complex and dynamic environment while also managing time effectively to meet deadlines 
  • Strong team player with a positive, can-do approach towards work assignments and the ability to be adaptable, flexible and patient, especially working under ambiguous situations 
  • Proficient and knowledgeable with MS Office programs and applications such as MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Google Docs, and SharePoint. 
  • Use effective, professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in daily activities with the ability to present material in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work with diverse groups at various levels in an organization as well as representing the company well when working with customers, partners, liaisons, etc. 
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and accounting 
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple transactions and/or projects 
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of building operations and maintenance and capital projects 
  • Perform major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned 
  • Follow all policies and procedures 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Fluent in English and Spanish languages with the ability to read, write and speak in either language as required 
  • Mathematical aptitude

Education

Required:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D 

Experience

Required:

  • 1 - 3 years of experience with project scheduling 
  • Project management skills and experience in managing multiple initiatives of various scope and size 
  • General knowledge of electric utility business processes and the IT systems that support them 

Preferred:

  • Experience with AACE classification, PREB, FEMA, Government rules and Regulations 
  • Knowledgeable with construction materials, methods, and procedures  

Licenses/Certifications

Required:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
