Duties and Responsibilities:
The School of Education (SOE) at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for part-time instructors to teach in the SOE’s Teaching and Learning (T&L) program area. Candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to urban education and dedication to serving a historically minoritized student population consistent with Loyola’s commitment to advancing social justice through transformative education.
- Teaching up to six credit hours courses or modules per semester. Undergraduate field-based courses are typically offered during the morning, with university-based courses offered in the late afternoon or evening.
- Supporting existing partnerships with schools and community agencies through collaborative on-site work with teachers and administrators.
- Collaboration with T&L chairs and faculty to ensure consistency and quality across sections and semesters.
- Face-to-face instruction. Note that our teacher education programs are largely face-to-face or hybrid in format.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned Master’s or Doctorate in appropriate area(s) of education
- 3+ years of experience as a Preschool-Grade 12 educator
- Current or previous state educator licensure
- Successful prior work in teacher education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Urban education experiences and efforts to address social justice
- Supervision or field-based work with practicum students and/or interns
