The Laboratory Assistant supports biological science lab activities under supervision, including preparing, setting up, cleaning, and maintaining labs in compliance with safety regulations.
Minimum education is an associate’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least three years of lab experience including hazardous material training.
Responsibilities include preparing lab materials, chemical solutions, and media; cleaning and restoring lab spaces; maintaining samples of living organisms; managing inventory; disposing of waste properly; assisting faculty; and maintaining equipment.
Requires knowledge of biology, microbiology, zoology, or botany; strong organizational skills; and proficiency with computer systems.
