Job Description
Schedule: Monday - Friday flexible hours/ possibly up to 40 hours a week / on call (per diem) status - ineligible for benefits
Send Out Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for assisting the pathologists, pathology assistants, histology, cytology and or molecular staff as needed to ensure proper workflow of the departments: daily duties may include instrument maintenance/cleaning, quality assurance and data entry.
You Will:
Ability to perform support functions in the laboratory.
Perform Sendouts laboratory duties
Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed.
Provide accurate and timely receiving and processing of specimens.
Assist Pathologists' Assistants, Histology, Cytology and Molecular departments, as needed.
Maintain knowledge of current CAP requirements and State & Federal regulations
Quality control data entry
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent: associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science, preferred
Competency with computers and MS Office programs
Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards.
Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
Laboratory experience and possessing send-outs familiarity, both preferred.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Pay Range: $18.02 - $25.23 USD Hourly
The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Generally, new hire offers will be between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on experience (DOE), with the ability to grow within the range over time.
