We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our independent insurance agency. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a professional who enjoys a dynamic environment and is skilled in both corporate accounting and tax preparation.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of professional accounting experience, strong QuickBooks and financial reporting skills, and the ability to oversee bookkeepers while managing client relationships. A CPA designation is preferred. Full time 8:30AM-5:00PM Monday-Friday

(Saturdays may be necessary during tax season)

Responsibilities

  • Set up, train, and review client QuickBooks files to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Record and reconcile asset, liability, and capital account entries.
  • Maintain and improve accounting controls by recommending policies and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies through detailed account analysis.
  • Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and internal processes.
  • Participate in financial forecasting, budgeting, and standards setting.
  • Supervise, assign, and review the work of bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Prepare and review corporate and business tax returns; provide tax planning and consultation.
  • Communicate with management regarding project status, client issues, and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and dependable service.

Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Certification: A Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
  • 5-10 years of professional accounting experience, including public accounting and corporate tax preparation.
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate finance principles.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality in all matters.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
