Our client, a leading multi-billion-dollar manufacturer of medical products, seeks a Senior Director, Strategic Market Pricing.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Has comprehensive knowledge of pricing processes and systems.
  • Uses comprehensive depth and breadth of pricing science understanding to drive enablement of innovative strategic pricing approaches.
  • Understands and anticipates implications/impact of market conditions, field response, and competitive response in support of pricing strategies.
  • Creates analysis and recommendations that create new value opportunities.
  • Reviews market trends, customer insights, and profitability analytics to ensure reasonableness of findings and seeks cross-functional input in pricing development strategies.
  • Clearly articulates and reinforces pricing strategies throughout the organization.
  • Maintains strong communication across the Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Executive teams.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to the commercial teams on pricing strategy and implementation.
  • Develops and drives data-driven pricing guidelines/tools for the commercial teams.
  • Develops tools to guide the commercial teams in developing pricing strategies, implement pricing improvement programs, and track impact including scenario impact models on pricing and profitability within key markets, customers, and channels.
  • Develops pricing SOPs.
  • Leads annual review of current pricing strategies and development of recommendations for next calendar year.
  • Prepares executive-level reports of findings and opportunities to increase price attainment.
  • Provides analysis and support for pricing initiatives including setting list price and customer-specific strategies.
  • Partners with product launch teams to determine new product pricing positioning optimizing price and value.
  • Provides ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Works with master data to ensure accuracy of pricing information in business systems.

Qualifications:

Expertise: Qualifications – Experience/Training/Education/Etc

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in marketing, business, or a related field with a focus on finance.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Medical/pharmaceutical sales and medical/pharmaceutical business experience, including new product development/product launch experience, marketing, and/or sales experience, as well as marketing personnel management.
  • Business travel, driver’s license, passport, secrecy and invention agreement, and non-compete agreement.

Desired:

  • Advanced degree preferred.
