Job Description and Responsibilities

The role holder will be a key member of the Global Merchant Sales and Acquiring (GMS&A) Finance team and plays a critical role in driving Visa’s revenue growth and product commercialization strategy by closely collaborating with the GMS&A Sales across various functions. The core responsibility of the role will be to build partnership strategy, structure complex deals, drive financial modelling, and lead strategic initiatives for the global markets with particular focus on Merchant partnerships and Visa Direct.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of effectively partnering with Sales teams and responding to the needs of strategic clients. There will be significant opportunities in this role to influence Visa’s long-term strategy and solving enterprise-level challenges with data and analytics, competitive intelligence and financial modelling, as well as partnering with leaders across the organization. 

Essential Functions:

Participate in the brainstorming to develop rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis and drive the partnership strategy for the global merchants, acquirers, and other ecosystem players
Gather and organize large amounts of transactional data to drive analysis to structure deals, drive financial modelling, and lead strategic initiatives
Structure and solve business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues. Build out unique, creative and impactful solutions by integrating insights across Visas many expert functional resources and supporting development of collaborative solutions
Work closely with cross-functional and regional management teams on strategic projects, bringing timely and useful insight and financial/analytical support
Create presentations for internal approvals and external client facing partnership specific discussions. Communicate recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise and impactful way.


Basic Qualifications:

8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a Phd

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or advanced degree, preferably in Finance, Business or Economics
Prior Experience in Strategy, Pricing, Interchange, or Deal modeling highly desirable
Knowledge of payment industry and revenue drivers a plus
Specific domain knowledge in merchant acquirer and/or Issuer processing a plus
Commercial acumen to build deal strategy for clients of disparate sizes.
Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze financial modeling
Exceptional Financial modelling skills in Excel and building presentations in PowerPoint are required
Experience working with strategic frameworks, scenarios analysis, and competitive assessments
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with functional and regional leaders within Visa
Ability to independently lead and manage projects
Personal and professional presence and ability to clearly articulate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners
Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
