Position Overview:
Power your future with Qualus in our Program Management department as a Senior Quality Inspector. This position is responsible for onsite inspection of completed electric utility wildfire mitigation construction to ensure that projects are compliant with codes, regulations, and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects completed construction projects of multiple electric contractor crews, for multiple substation and line projects.
- Makes the proper notification to all federal, state and local agencies before, during and after construction as required.
- Ensures that the terms and conditions of the contract and technical specifications are met.
- Verifies key unit quantities.
- Documents and communicates all findings to the Supervisor and Program or Project Manager; ensures completion and compliance.
- Reviews documents submitted by the contractor verifying the accuracy and completeness of the documentation.
- Conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion.
- Reports to various project sites.
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Company work, environmental, and safety practices, including a working knowledge of line and substation projects, including relay replacement projects.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for electric distribution, transmission, and substation construction.
- Thorough knowledge of PC and job/work management applications including AS8, Atlas, Mobile Maps & Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret construction and vendor drawings, feeder prints and job jacket contents.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve problems promptly.
- Required to have a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience with construction management in the power delivery industry (specific to transmission line, distribution line, or substation project work).
- Journeyman/Linemen License preferred.
