Senior Litigation Attorney – Employment Law

Responsibilities:
Our firm is seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Attorney to specialize in Employment PAGA, FEHA, discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour cases, including both Single and Class Action lawsuits.
This role is perfect for an experienced attorney with a strong background in labor and employment law, who excels in a fast-paced environment and is eager to lead a team focused on challenging employer misconduct.
You will have full autonomy over your caseload, overseeing your team through all stages of litigation.
Caseload Management: Independently manage your own caseload, ensuring efficient and effective case handling.
Team Leadership: Lead a committed team of Associates, Paralegals, and Assistants, fostering collaboration while driving case outcomes.
Motion Practice and Litigation: Draft or supervise the drafting of key motions necessary for successful litigation, including motions for remand, opposition to motions to compel arbitration, discovery motions, and class certification motions.
Legal Strategy: Formulate and execute legal strategies aimed at achieving favorable and cost-effective resolutions for clients.
Depositions and Conferences: Conduct and manage depositions, and lead meet-and-confer sessions to drive case progress.
Mediation and Negotiations: Assist in preparing for mediation and participate in negotiations to resolve employment matters on both a class and individual basis as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Active and in good standing with the California State Bar License.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
A minimum of seven years of legal experience, with at least five years focused on labor and employment law or class action work.
Proven experience as a Lead Attorney.
Strong analytical and legal research abilities, with a creative and strategic approach to problem-solving.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and juggle multiple complex cases.
In-depth knowledge of the California Labor Code and the ability to apply it in litigation and client counsel.
Demonstrated experience managing legal teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing junior staff.
Experience managing at least two team members is required.
Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.
Ability to Relocate: While in-office work is preferred in Westwood, California, the firm is open to flexible work arrangements.
License/Certification: California Bar License (Preferred)
