The Senior Network Engineer reports to the Director of Information Security & Network Services and oversees the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the university's global network infrastructure.
They ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing LAN/WAN networks supporting students, faculty, and staff across multiple campuses.
Responsibilities include configuring core network equipment, managing wireless infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, monitoring performance, and maintaining documentation. They lead technical projects, enforce security policies, and coordinate with vendors and external consultants.
The role requires extensive experience with enterprise networking technologies, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), and multi-vendor environments. Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, and confidentiality skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and support university-wide IT initiatives.
