The Information Technology Services Department works with every Ventura County department/agency to provide the necessary technology infrastructure and consulting/contracting services to meet ongoing and emerging business needs, including project management, business process improvement, applications support, voice/data infrastructure, data security, threat and vulnerability/risk management, and extended staffing.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Working within the Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) within the Justice Agencies support team, the Senior PowerBuilder/.NET Developer, under general direction, is responsible for planning, leading and/or performing: application requirements definition, system component mix and architecture definition, application design, application development, and system implementation. specifically using PowerBuilder, PFC, SQL, stored procedures, C# .NET, and RESTful web services. Responsibilities may also include the technical supervision of subordinate analysts and programming staff.
The successful candidate will have three (3) or more years of hands-on experience with PowerBuilder; three (3) or more years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server; three (3) or more years of hands-on experience with C# Web Services including RESTful web services; experience in delivering excellent customer service to stakeholders; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a valid California driver's license.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
In addition to the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate will have five (5) or more years of experience with systems analysis and programming experience, specifically with PowerBuilder; and some experience with Unix/Linux scripting including Crontab scheduling.
The Applications Architect/Supervisor series is the highest professional/technical classifications within the Information Technology Services Department, Application Services Division. The Applications Architect/Supervisor is distinguished from the Principal Applications Architect Supervisor and Senior Information Systems Analyst in that the latter two classifications have the authority to participate in the definition of County technology policies and procedures.
Applications Architect/SupervisorEDUCATIONAL/BILINGUAL INCENTIVE:
Incumbents may be eligible to receive an educational incentive of either 2.5%, for an associate's degree, 3.5%, for a bachelor's degree, or 5% for a master's degree that is not required to work in the classification. Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive pay depending upon operational needs and certification skills.
