If you are interested in building a very large and new planning system from scratch, this is an opportunity for you. We are creating a suite of technology platforms and modules for a strategic growth organization. This is a greenfield architecture with a highly visible charter. You will play a critical role in decision-making, significantly impact product features, and have the opportunity to redefine the customer experience.

Welcome to Project Nazir, where we are developing multiple products from scratch to manage end-to-end planning and financial processes for Global Engineering Service (GES). This is a multi-year initiative. GES is responsible for designing and constructing Amazon fulfillment facilities worldwide. This strategic organization invests in capacity to support growth for Consumer Fulfillment, Amazon Transportation, Amazon Air, Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF), and PillPack. GES spends billions of dollars on asset construction to meet shipping and retail demands for our external customers. To build this suite of planning and financial systems, we will push the limits of distributed systems and big data processing to solve complex technical challenges at unprecedented scale.

As part of this team, you will collaborate with executive leaders, engineering, product, and operations stakeholders to improve processes, generate ideas, validate entitlements, and develop a path to production. You will define product strategy, develop the product roadmap, and drive execution. You will work in a fast-paced environment, leading both strategically and tactically by diving deeply into business and technical domains.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience owning and defining roadmap strategy
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery
  • Experience delivering features and managing product tradeoffs
  • Experience as a product manager or owner
  • Experience owning technology products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience influencing senior leadership through data-driven insights
  • Experience working across functional teams and with senior stakeholders

About the Company

A

Amazon

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
