We are partnering with a fast-growing financing firm to hire a Senior Underwriter for their revenue-based financing business. This is the first senior underwriting hire and a ground-floor opportunity to define underwriting standards, protect the portfolio, and partner directly with leadership as the company scales.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be the trusted final decision-maker on merchant cash advance and revenue-based financing deals (average size ~$50k). You'll run merchant interviews, conduct deep risk analysis, and structure offers that balance competitiveness with repayment sustainability. This role sets the tone for risk culture and has a clear path to Director of Underwriting or CRO.

5+ years of revenue-based financing or merchant cash advance underwriting experience
Proven ownership of final underwriting decisions, not just junior or pre-fill work
Experience with A/B paper deals (~$1M revenue businesses, 600–700 FICO, strong payment history)
Track record of conducting merchant interviews and probing repayment risk
Steady career progression without chronic job-hopping
What You'll Do
Lead final underwriting for MCA/revenue-based financing deals (~$50k average size)
Conduct repayment capacity reviews, default analysis, and portfolio risk assessments
Run direct interviews with merchants to evaluate needs, risks, and financing suitability
Collaborate with junior underwriters and pricers to structure balanced offers
Protect the firm's capital by acting with a portfolio manager mindset
Skills and Competencies Required:
5+ years of MCA/revenue-based financing experience with final underwriting responsibility
Strong analytical skills for repayment, default, and risk evaluation
Comfort running direct merchant interviews and assessing repayment honesty
Integrity, resilience, and ability to thrive in a competitive industry
Willingness to be onsite daily in Miami (relocation supported)
Desired:
Experience mentoring junior underwriters or leading risk culture
Background in firms such as Credibly, Fox Funding, Vox, Libertas, Wallstreet Funding, Simply (avoid CFG/Specialty Capital)
Portfolio protection mindset with a record of long-term success in deal screening
