Sign Language Interpreter

The role involves providing skilled Sign Language interpreting services to the Deaf Community in a religious setting, responding promptly to scheduling requests, and following established Interpreter Ministry Guidelines. The interpreter must prepare using various written sources to ensure accurate and culturally appropriate communication across religious and musical content.

• Qualifications include extensive knowledge of ASL, religious signs, and Deaf Culture, with prior experience interacting with the Deaf community in religious or community settings.
• Personal qualities require being born-again and feeling called by God to interpret the Gospel, along with maintaining respectful communication with staff.
  
  

• Preferred education includes a bachelor’s degree, completion of an Interpreter Training program, and advanced ASL coursework. The role demands cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and commitment to faith-based service.
