Role Overview

An advanced manufacturing and robotics company in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to lead quality assurance, system validation, and release readiness across a modern automation software platform.

This role supports highly integrated robotics and industrial automation systems operating in production environments where reliability, performance, and scalability are critical. The ideal candidate has strong automated testing experience, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and thrives in fast-paced engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead software testing and validation efforts across the platform
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for CI/CD workflows
• Create testing strategies including functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing
• Evaluate release readiness and software deployment quality
• Design and improve testing frameworks for scalability and coverage
• Support cloud-based deployment activities and production validation
• Investigate software defects and coordinate resolutions with engineering teams
• Validate new features, system performance, and platform reliability
• Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional technical teams
• Incorporate user feedback into testing priorities and release improvements
• Continuously improve QA processes, testing workflows, and release procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  OR equivalent practical experience
• Experience testing software applications
• Experience writing test scripts or automation code
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in cloud-based environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated release workflows
• Experience supporting production deployments
• Exposure to systems integrating software with robotics, hardware, or industrial controls
• Experience in startup or fast-paced engineering environments
• Background in advanced manufacturing or automation systems preferred
