Specialty Clinic Telephone Nurse Hematology and Oncology

- Schedule: Part-time (Benefit Ineligible) - Day shift - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM - variable weekdays M-F
This position will provide a registered nurse to return all emergent phone calls for the entire division to patients during regular business hours. The nurse will work from the clinic office and will respond to and treat patients using division phone protocols, procedures, and other guidelines.
Education: Degree in Registered Nursing
Experience: Previous pediatric experience is preferred
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries: Current licensure with the Alabama Board of Nursing
Additional Information: The Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders is a partnership between the UAB Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Children’s of Alabama, the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, and National Childhood Research entities, including the National Cancer Institute and the Children’s Oncology Group.
Clinic 8 includes 18 board-certified Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists. Specialty care is provided for blood disorders, Oncology, and Neuro-Oncology. The clinic also provides transfusion and apheresis services on an outpatient basis. Neuro-Psychologists, Academic Fellows, Residents, and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide care in this area, under the supervision of the attending MD.
