Are you interested in diving deep into data to understand business opportunities across multiple business lines and geographies? This role will partner with product managers, operations, and technical teams to provide the data and analyses needed to influence product roadmaps. Do you have a track record of using data to influence decision-makers? Do you have effective problem-solving skills and want to solve problems that will meet the growing worldwide need? As an Amazon Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You’ll employ data analysis to ensure your partners and leaders have the most up-to-date, reliable information, working collaboratively to make the best possible roadmap decisions. You’ll make a huge impact, not just on the bottom line performance of the network, but on the overall customer experience, making history whilst having fun along the way! You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions. We are looking for innovators to be sophisticated users of data querying tools, and experts at synthesizing and communicating insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.

Above all, you should be passionate about bringing large datasets together to answer business questions and drive change. Being curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable finding information and performing tasks that haven't been done before will be the norm.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Build and maintain Business, Reporting and KPI dashboards.
  2. Work/advice Tech and Partner teams for Data Retrofits activities.
  3. Maintain and update data models for data exports.
  4. Build Product adoption and usage KPIs (require integration with X+ datasets).
  5. Build data pipelines.
  6. Maintain ETL and streaming jobs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
