The Senior Mechanical Designer reports to the Manager of New Product Development and specializes in advanced Creo-based CAD architecture, concept development, and complex system layouts for overhead and underground switchgear products.
Responsibilities include independently creating design concepts, supporting feasibility studies, performing equipment layouts within enclosures, and establishing CAD standards. They serve as a technical leader, mentor junior designers, and collaborate across teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and service requirements.
Qualifications require 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, expert Creo skills, strong knowledge of GD&T, and the ability to translate minimal inputs into detailed designs. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, R&D experience, and familiarity with power systems.
