Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will support financial operations by preparing journal entries, maintaining financial records, and assisting with grant accounting. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will also work closely with the accounting team to ensure compliance with internal controls and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and record asset and liability entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with grant accounting and compliance reporting.
- Document and maintain financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support financial decision-making.
- Assist in the transition to a new accounting system, ensuring smooth implementation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end and year-end close processes.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Required)
- 1-3 years of general accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
