Strategic Finance Associate

Overview

Participates in the development and implementation of long-range strategic financial plans, goals, and objectives. Assists in designing financial models to support multi-assumption comparative budget vs. actual analyses. Supports high-impact initiatives across the organization. Works closely with various departments and the Executive Team to optimize financial performance and drive strategic decision-making. Works under general supervision.

What You Will Do

• Participate in financial modeling and forecasting: develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and long-term planning.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of financial projections.
• Assist in developing financial forecasts linked to strategic objectives.
• Provide market insights to inform vision and strategic drivers.
• Design financial models supporting multi-assumption budget vs. actual analyses.
• Conduct market research to identify potential acquisition targets and strategic partnerships.
• Analyze industry trends and the competitive landscape to uncover growth opportunities.
• Perform financial analysis and valuation of potential targets to assess strategic fit and synergies.
• Participate in M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, and integration, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
• Develop presentations and materials for new business ventures, products, and solutions.
• Conduct due diligence and financial analyses to support new initiatives, providing recommendations through presentations and investment memos.
• Prepare financial analyses of emerging business opportunities, including pro forma, cash flow, and ROI development.
• Create scenarios in financial models to assess impacts.
• Develop methodologies to track achievement against business cases for new programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities, risks, and benefits.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations for business growth and efficiency.
• Assist in preparing analysis and presentation materials for financial review meetings at corporate and board levels.
• Support competitive and customer intelligence, geographic economic data, and technology trend analysis.
• Use market intelligence from governmental and public sources to inform landscape assessments.
• Analyze financial impacts of legislative and regulatory changes; support business responses.
• Maintain a strong understanding of VNS Health Plans' strategic, marketing, operational, and regulatory objectives related to Medicare and Medicaid products.
• Collaborate with senior management to refine the company's growth strategy and present strategic recommendations to leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.

Work Experience:

• Minimum two years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, investment banking/private equity, or related discipline, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience in Managed Care or Homecare preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including financial modeling), Word, PowerPoint, and Access required.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of breaking down complex problems using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
• Knowledge of Workday, Oracle, and statistical software preferred.

Pay Range

USD $93,400.00 - USD $116,800.00 /Yr.
